SUMMER CAMP FAQs

FAQs (PDF)
Can my child register if they are under 6 or over 12 years old?

No, children must be of age at the time of participating for the registered week of camp.

What happens if the camp week is full?

If the camp week is full, please join the waitlist. Once a spot becomes available, you will be notified via an automated email, with access to register for 24 hour ONLY. If you do not register within 24 hours, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

When can my child join camp if they are on the waitlist?

BGC cannot confirm if, or when, your child will be accepted into camp for the specific waitlisted week. Spots only become available when those who are in camp withdraw for the week.

Can I know my child's spot on the waitlist?

No, information about spots on the waitlist is not provided. We encourage those on the waitlist to make alternative arrangements if summer camp is a necessity for your family.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept only online payments, with the exception of cash payments for camp shirts.

How do the instalment payments work?

Instalment payments are available at checkout (except for the first week of camp). Instalments are automatically withdrawn from the card on file on the Wednesday morning before camp week begins. Insufficient funds will prevent your child from attending camp until the payment is made.

What if I have an outstanding balance?

If you owe a balance from a previous program, you must resolve it before registering your child for camp.

What is the refund and cancellation policy?

Cancellations made at least one week (7 days) before camp starts will receive a refund minus a 10% administration fee. Refunds will be issued back to the card on file.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations less than a week before camp starts.
No refunds will be given for the past week(s) of camp your child did or did not attend.
No refunds will be given for partial attendance.

What is the late pick-up policy?

For children not registered for after-care: $1 per minute, per child after 4:05 p.m.
For children registered for after-care: $1 per minute, per child after 5:05 p.m.
After-care must be paid by 12 noon on the day of care. Paying for after-care in the afternoon when late is not permitted, unless paying for after-care for the remainder of the week (plus the late fee).

Will there be other camp locations?

Current camp locations are Baycrest Public School and Portage Trail Community School.

What if my child has a camp shirt from previous years?

All new campers must purchase a camp shirt for $12 (cash only). Returning campers may reuse their earlier shirts or purchase a new one. Shirts are available for pick-up at the start of the registered camp week.

What if my child requires one-on-one support?

We do not provide one-on-one support for children with exceptionalities. If you child requires additional support, arrangements must be made separately. Please note that this service is not provided by BGC.
